I was asked to write a sequel to "Mother Knows Best." While I haven't decided how big a role Jack's mom will play, she will be featured in the story. It is a continuation of the original fic, taking place three years later. Prescott O'Brien is also featured, simply because I wanted him to be. :) In the interest of continuity, we'll assume he existed in the last story as a baby, and that Chloe and Morris never reconciled after her pregnancy.

Summary: Chloe sees Jack for the first time on Day 7.

Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him. He did that to her every time. Her words seemed meaningless as they left her mouth, yet the tone of his reply assured her they weren't. The look on his face told her he probably knew, and she hoped he did, because she would never tell him. She would never admit to the endless hours of worrying, the countless nights spent crying and the emptiness she felt every time he walked away. She would never tell him these things. She had already given him everything she had, and it wasn't enough.
